A Sunday with a Blue Box - Georges Seurat, 1884
By: StudioFibonacci
Georges-Pierre Seurat's most famous pointilist painting with a blue box. This design is about 1/2 the original size. Seurat was a French Post-Impressionist painter noted for his innovative use of drawing media and for devising the painting techniques known as chromoluminarism and pointillism. He altered the direction of modern art by initiating Neo-impressionism, and is one of the icons of late 19th-century painting.
